Gates of Praise is part of the New Creation Christian Community, a Christian Community house where people can live together as family in an all things in common shared life style regardless of age, ethnic origin or gender. Situated just 5 minutes walk from the town center of Kettering, UK. A 3 storey Victorian house with accommodation for 16 people it has been part of NCCC since 1993.
Tony and Barbara moved to Gates of Praise in March 1995 having lived in another NCCC house for 18 months, married for over 43 years and Born Again Christians for over 25 years they were looking for an ACTS 2 church that lived out the teachings of Jesus.
There was a restlessness within us, we knew there had to be more than we had experienced so far. When we first met people from the Jesus Fellowship we were touched by the love and care they had for us, it was Jesus 24/7, we had found that something more that we hungered for.
After much soul searching and seeking GOD we decided to renounce all House, Car, Narrow Boat and Job and move into Christian Community. Some 18 months later we were asked to move to Gates of Praise as spiritual Father and Mother, a move that has not always been easy as over the years we have worked out the reality of the words of Jesus, If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. Mt 16:24,25 NIV.
But out of that has come inner peace and a more fulfilled life with a love for all kinds people. We would not want to be anywhere else.
